It is September and fall is finally here. Even tho this Texas weather hasn’t got the memo yet, I am bringing out the fall decor. I am sure you have been to your local Target, Walmart or Home Goods and have seen all the decor out for a while now. Have you started decorating for fall yet?
I dont know if it’s because I haven’t decorated this house before, but I was eager to light a pumpkin candle and sprinkle a little fall all over the house. I have been slowly adding fall decor around the house and I will share them soon on instagram. But for now, here is what I have ordered, decorated already, or have my eye on.
When decorating for fall I always keep a few things in mind, texture, colors, pumpkins, and I keep it simple.
Tip#1 Texture– Adding texture will create an inviting cozy space. You can use baskets, blankets, dried grass, pillows, and more
Tip #2- Color– Pick a color or color scheme and keep it through out your house, this will make the space feel less cluttered and more put together. My color scheme this year is blush and a burnt red, which is a perfect balance to our neutral home.
Tip #3- Pumpkins, Pumpkins and more Pumpkins– It truly is the first thing I think of when I think of fall. There are so many sizes, colors and textures the possibilities are endless. You can follow tips 1 & 2 with your pumpkins. Target has so many cute raffia, ceramic, fabric and wooden pumpkins.
Tip #4- Keep It Simple– There can be so much beauty in simplicity. Simple is calming and classy. It gets the point across without feeling overwhelming. Sometimes adding a pumpkin on top of a stack of books on your coffee table is enough.
Here, I simply changed out the candle that was on the gold pillar for a pumpkin to bring a little touch of fall to the dining room.
Here I added a gold leaf and a small faux fall hydrangea arrangement to the entryway table.
Tip #5- One last tip would be light a fall candle. May Favorite way to wake up the senses is to add some fall scented candles. Scented candles make a space feel warm and inviting. I am guilty of lighting many candles. Whether it be lighting a white pumpkin candle when I am cleaning the house or while snuggled on the couch in the middle of summer, or even before guests come over.
Hopefully these ideas get you excited for some fall decorating.
