Let’s be real, as a full-time mom, I don’t have a lot of time to get dressed-up and put on a full face of makeup. Although it is fun taking the extra time to go through my complete makeup process sometimes, my day-to-day look is composed of a basic routine that focuses on skincare and highlighting my natural features. I’ve found the system that makes me feel like my best self each day, and I wanted to share it with all of you guys. Below is a step-by-step process of my favorite everyday makeup routine. Skin Prep: Eyes & Skin
I have really dry skin, so to prepare my skin for my face makeup, I use the Clinique Moisture Surge Lotion. I then apply the Tula Face Filter Primer with the Tula Protect and Glow Sunscreen as my base. Under my eyes, I apply the Tula Cooling and Brightening Eye Balm to reduce the look of fine lines and dark circles.
Base Layer 1: Under Eye Concealer & Foundation
I put a few drops of the Tarte HydroFlex in the shade light medium sand on the high points of my face before blending it across my skin. This is a new product for me, and I am absolutely loving it! It has a light but buildable coverage, so it doesn’t feel thick or cakey. After my foundation, I use the Tarte Creaseless Concealer under my eyes. This is similar to the famous Tarte Shape Tape, except this product is not quite as thick. For me, applying the concealer in a traditional triangle shape under my eyes emphasizes my aging skin, so I stick to just applying it in the corners of my eyes and blending the excess below with a wet beauty blender.
Base Layer 2: Powder, Setting powder, Bronzer, Blush, & Highlighter
The Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Setting Powder is new to me, but I don’t know how I used to live without it! It makes my skin look flawless and natural, so setting powder isn’t even needed! I’ve found that the shade 2 medium is the perfect match for me! I then take the Hoola Bronzer in the shade natural light bronze and use the brush provided to apply it, before blending it out with the Sonia Kasuk Essential Powder Makeup Brush. Lastly, I add the Hourglass Blush in the shade mood exposure and a little Milani highlighter on my upper cheekbones and the tip of my nose.
Eyes:
This is where I let myself have the most creative freedom! I prep my eyes with the MAC paint pot in the color painterly. Currently, I am loving the Tarte eyeshadow palettes. My three go to palettes from them right now are In Bloom, Toasted, and Confessions of a Maneater, which features a beautiful blush color called smitten kitten. On my top lid, I use either my go to eyeliner pencil, the Lancome Le Crayon in the color black, or my go to liquid liner, Stilla, also in the color black. If I decide to put anything on my lower lash line, it is usually just the darkest color in whatever palette I am using that day, applied with the Sonia Kashuk Radiant Smudge Brush.
Mascara & Brows:
Mascara and brows are a game changer for me, so they are probably the two things I won’t leave home without. My favorite mascara that I know you guys will love is the Tarte Lights Camera Action Mascara, and for my brows I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in the color dark brown.
Lips:
I usually stick to the same pinkish nude tinted glosses and lipsticks, my favorites being the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in the shade Pillow Talk and the Tarte Lipstick in shade Salt Lyfe. My two go to lipglosses are NYX Butter Gloss in the shade angel food cake. I have to say, although I love all of these products, I tend to wear the Pillow talk Lipstick the most.
Setting Spray:
Last but most certainly not least, I spray my face with Ulta Beauty Wannabe Free Setting Spray.
And that completes my everyday makeup routine! This whole process usually only takes me about 15 minutes, but I still leave the house feeling like I’m glowing! Try out some of these products and techniques, and see how they improve your makeup look!
